Scope
Overview The Fieldbus Application Layer (FAL) provides user programs with the means to access the fieldbus communication environment. In this regard, FAL can be considered as a "window between corresponding applications". GB/T 25105 provides general elements and specific materials for PROFINET IO field bus for basic time-critical and non-time-strict message communication between applications in an automation environment. The term "strictly timed" is used to indicate that there is a time window within which one or more specified actions are required to be completed with a certain definite level of certainty. Failure to complete the specified actions within this time window will lead to the risk of failure of the application requesting these actions, and even cause equipment, plants and possible personal hazards. This part of GB/T 25105 defines the externally visible services provided by the fieldbus application layer in an abstract way from the following aspects: a) The abstract model used to define application resources (objects), users can use FAL services to Utilize these resources; b) the primitive actions and events of the service; c) the parameters associated with each primitive action and event, and the form they take; d) the interrelationships between these actions and events and their effective order . The purpose of this standard is to define a number of services for: a) FAL users at the interface between the user of the fieldbus reference model and the application layer; b) system management at the interface between the application layer and system management of the fieldbus reference model . This part specifies the structure and services of the fieldbus application layer based on the basic OSI reference model (see GB/T 9387) and the OSI application layer structure (GB/T 17176). FAL services and protocols are provided by the FAL Application Entity (AE) included in the application process. FAL AE consists of a set of object-oriented Application Service Elements (ASE) and Layer Management Entity (LME) that manages AE.
