This part of GB/T 9387 defines the basic mechanism of names and addresses used in OSIE to identify and locate objects. The use of these mechanisms is defined in the multi-level structure of the base reference model. This part expands the concepts and criteria defined in GB/T 9387.1-1998. This part is neither intended to be an implementation specification nor a basis for evaluating the implementation consistency. Canonical forms of names and addresses are outside the scope of this standard.
