Scope

The mechanical safety requirements and test methods specified in this standard are applicable to rear-operated and hand-held power lawn trimmers and lawn edge trimmers, the cutting parts of which are non-metallic wires or free-centering non-metallic cutters, each cutting The cutting capacity (kinetic energy) of the parts is not greater than 10J, and it is operated by the operator standing up, mainly used for mowing grass. This standard does not apply to lawn trimmers or lawn trimmers of the shearing type or with rigid blades. This standard also does not apply to lawn trimmers with non-rigid cutting devices and cutting capacity (kinetic energy) above 10J. Note: ISO11806 "Safety requirements and test methods for hand-held forestry machinery brush cutters and lawn mowers" includes this kind of lawn trimmer.
