Scope

This document specifies specific requirements for the construction and testing of electrical equipment intended for use in explosive gas atmospheres or explosive dust atmospheres protected by positive pressure enclosures "p", and also specifies requirements for positive pressure enclosures containing restricted release of flammable substances. This document applies to electrical equipment intended for use in explosive gas atmospheres or explosive dust atmospheres protected by positive pressure enclosures "p". This document does not apply to: --- Positive pressure enclosures with built-in systems that may release the following substances: ●● air with oxygen content exceeding normal values; or oxygen mixed with inert gases, wherein the proportion of oxygen exceeds 21%. --- Positive pressure room or analysis room, see GB/T 3836.17. --- Positive pressure enclosures used in the presence of explosives or fireworks. --- Positive pressure enclosures used in environments where gas/vapor and combustible dust mixtures exist. --- Positive pressure enclosures used in the presence of explosives or propellants that themselves contain oxidizers and other pyrophoric substances. --- Positive pressure enclosure with combustible dust release source inside. NOTE: When the user is the manufacturer, normally, it is the user's responsibility to ensure that all relevant requirements of this document apply to the manufacture and testing of the equipment. This document is a supplement and modification to the general requirements of GB/T 3836.1. When the requirements of this document conflict with the requirements of GB/T 3836.1, the requirements of this document take precedence.
