This part of "Explosive Atmospheres" specifies test methods to avoid the risk of static ignition and electric shock caused by equipment, products and processes. This section is applicable to the assessment of electrostatic hazards, or to the formulation of electrical or non-electrical equipment standards or special product standards. This section provides standard test methods for controlling static electricity, such as surface resistance, leakage resistance to ground, powder resistivity, liquid conductivity, capacitance, and evaluating the ignitability of triggered discharges. This section is used together with the GB/T3836 series of standards. Note: This section does not replace specific product standards and industrial application standards. The latest available technology provided in this section may deviate from the requirements and eliminations of other standards, especially in terms of test climatic conditions. When the requirements of this section conflict with the requirements of GB3836.1, in order to avoid that previously certified equipment may need to be retested, the requirements of GB3836.1 only apply to the equipment specified in GB3836.1. For other cases, the requirements of this section apply.
