Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, basic requirements, material requirements, structure and performance of each part, coating, marking, inspection methods and inspection rules for standard gauge railway passenger cars. This standard is applicable to standard gauge general-purpose newly-built railway passenger cars with a maximum operating speed not greater than 200km/h. Special vehicles, maintenance vehicles, test vehicles, international passenger vehicles, etc. can be used as a reference.
