This standard specifies the basic requirements, main performance, general technical regulations, materials, structure and performance of each part, as well as general requirements for marking, testing, inspection, acceptance, documentation and warranty of standard gauge railway passenger cars. This standard applies to new general-purpose all-metal seat cars, sleeping cars, luggage cars, postal cars, dining cars and composite cars for standard gauge railways. Generator vehicles, official vehicles, sanitation vehicles, maintenance vehicles, test vehicles and other purpose vehicles and other passenger vehicles with special requirements should also be used as a reference. This standard does not apply to vehicles in EMUs.
