Scope: This part of GB/T 21196 specifies the requirements for the Martindale tester and auxiliary materials, which are used to determine the abrasion resistance of fabrics according to the test methods specified in Parts 2 to 4 of GB/T 21196. This section is applicable to instruments for testing the following fabrics: a) Woven and knitted fabrics; b) Pile fabrics with pile height less than 2 mm; c) Non-woven fabrics; d) Coated fabrics: woven and knitted fabrics base fabric, and the coated portion forms a continuous film on the surface of the fabric. Note: Since there is no comparability between the results of different methods, the wear test method is selected before the test starts and recorded in the test report.
