Scope
This standard specifies the method for determining the linear density of various types of packaged yarns. This standard is divided into 7 procedures according to different humidity conditioning or preparation methods. Since different procedures may give different results, it is necessary to choose according to the product standard and the agreement of the parties concerned. This standard applies to all types of yarns, including single yarns, double-wound yarns, strands and cables. This standard does not apply to yarns with an elongation greater than 0.5% when the tension increases from 0.5cN/tex to 1.0cN/tex, except those approved by agreement. Such yarns can be tested under tension conditions acceptable to all parties concerned . This standard does not apply to yarns with a linear density greater than 2000tex. For this type of yarn, the length of the skein and the winding conditions can be specified according to the agreement of the parties concerned.
