Scope
The purpose of GB/T 15936 is to facilitate the exchange of documents. In GB/T 15936, documents are considered to be items such as memorandums, letters, invoices, forms and reports that may include pictorial and tabular materials. Content elements used in a document may contain graphic characters, geometrical graphic elements, and raster graphic elements, or all of them at the same time. Note: GB/T 15936 is designed to allow expansion to include printing features, colors, leaflets and other types of content such as sound. GB/T 15936 is applicable to file exchange in the form of data communication or exchange of storage media. GB/T 15936 provides for the exchange of files for one or both of the following purposes: - to allow presentation according to the originator's intention; - to allow processing such as editing and reformatting. The composition of a document in an exchange may take several forms: - a formatted form that allows the document to be visualized; - a processable form that allows the document to be processed; - a formatted form that allows both visualization and processing. GB/T 15936 also provides the exchange of the ODA information structure used to process the exchanged files. In addition, GB/T 15936 also allows the exchange of files containing one or more different types of content, such as character text, images, graphics and sounds.
