Scope
The purpose of the GB/T 15936 series of standards (hereinafter referred to as this series of standards) is to facilitate the exchange of documents. In this series of standards, documents are considered to be items such as memorandums, letters, invoices, forms and reports, which may include pictures and tabular material. The content elements used in the document can be graphic characters, geometric figure elements and raster graphic elements, and one document may include all these elements. NOTE: This series of standards is designed to allow for expansion to include typographical features, colours, reports and other content types such as sound. This series of standards is applicable to file exchange realized by means of data communication or exchange storage media. The exchange of documents in this series of standards can achieve the following two purposes: a. Allowing the presentation as intended by the originator; b. Allowing processing such as editing and reformatting. Composition of documents in exchange can be in several forms: a. formatted form allowing visualization of documents; b. processable form allowing processing of documents; c. formatted processable form allowing visualization and processing. This series of standards also specifies the exchange of ODA information structures used to process the documents being exchanged. In addition, this series of standards allows the exchange of files containing one or more different types of content, such as character text, images, graphics, and sound. The main content of this part of this series of standards is as follows: a. Introduce the entire series of standards; b. Give the reference standards required by each part of the standard; c. Define the terms used in this series of standards; d. Propose the concept of document architecture; e. Gives an overview of each part; f. Describes the interrelationship of each part; g. Defines the consistency with this series of standards; h. Gives the rules that define the application profile of the document
