Scope
The purpose of GB/T 15936 is to facilitate the exchange of documents. In GB/T 15936, documents are considered to be items such as memorandums, letters, invoices, statements and reports, which may include pictures and tabular materials. The content elements used in the document can be graphic characters, geometric figure elements and raster graphic elements, and a document may include all these elements. Note: GB/T 15936 is designed to allow expansion to include printing characteristics, colors, reports and other content types such as sounds. GB/T 15936 is applicable to file exchange realized by means of data communication or exchange of storage media. The file exchange of GB/T 15936 can achieve the following two or one of the purposes: --Allow display according to the originator's intention; --Allow processing such as editing and reformatting. Documents and composites in exchange can be in several forms: - a formatted form that allows visualization of documents; - a processable form that allows processing of documents; - a formatted form that allows visualization and processing. GB/T 15936 also specifies the exchange of ODA information structures used to process the exchanged files. In addition, GB/T 15936 also allows the exchange of files containing one or more different types of content, such as character text, images, graphics and sounds. GB/T 15936.5 defines -- the data stream format used to exchange files structured according to the second part of GB/T 15936; -- the component representation that can appear in an exchanged file. NOTE 1 This part of GB/T 15936 does not specify the coded representation of content elements. 2 The data formats related to the presentation attribute and coding attribute are defined in other parts of GB/T 15936.
