Scope

This standard specifies the business capability requirements, optical network requirements, PMD layer requirements, GTC layer requirements, functional requirements, management and maintenance requirements and other requirements of the 10Gbit/s Passive Optical Network (hereinafter referred to as XGPON) system. This standard is applicable to XGPON equipment in the public telecommunications network environment. Private telecommunications networks can also be used for reference.
