Scope

This standard specifies the location and delimitation of broadband optical access networks, functional reference models, hierarchical structures, physical reference configurations and application types, business support capabilities and interfaces, composition and functional requirements, QoS functional framework, security and authentication functions, Optical fiber transmission technology, performance parameters and requirements, timing and synchronization requirements, network management and operation and maintenance framework requirements, and operating environment requirements. This standard applies to public telecommunications networks, and private telecommunications networks can also be used with reference.
