Scope
This part specifies the physical medium-related (PMD) layer requirements of the 10Gbit/s Passive Optical Network (hereinafter referred to as XG-PON) system, the X/S tolerance of the ONU and the uplink physical layer overhead. The XG-PON system specified in this section is mainly targeted at XG-PON1. This section applies to XG-PON equipment in the public telecommunications network environment, and private telecommunications networks can also be used as a reference.
