Scope: This standard specifies the general safety requirements for electric resistance furnaces. This standard applies to all kinds of indirect heating resistance furnaces except for paint drying and explosive atmosphere resistance furnaces, as well as glass melting furnaces, graphitization furnaces, silicon carbide furnaces, etc. that use direct resistance heating. This standard does not apply to infrared heating elements, surface electric heating systems and devices for direct resistance heating described in GB5959.2, GB5959.3 and GB5959.8, nor to rapid water heaters and electrodes for electrode steam boilers pressure vessel.
