Scope: This part of GB/T 18029 specifies the design requirements, performance requirements and related test methods of wheelchairs, and also specifies the contents of wheelchair labels, pre-sale documents, instructions for use and warning information. These provisions apply to the overall wheelchair consisting of the basic frame and the seat system, and also to wheelchairs equipped with additional components (designed to meet one or more requirements). This standard applies to all manual and powered wheelchairs, including scooters, which, in addition to their basic functions for wheeled mobility, are often used as forward-facing seats in motor vehicles, and the occupants can be of a weight equal to or greater than 22 kg child or adult.
