Scope
This standard specifies the design criteria and basic requirements for HVAC systems and equipment outside the containment of pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants that affect safety functions, and includes physical layout design requirements. This standard applies to HVAC systems in pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants that serve outside the containment and are composed of equipment, air ducts and control devices, and rely on active components to achieve heating, cooling, ventilation, flue gas and heat control, and release control. This standard does not apply to reactor building containment annular space ventilation systems.
