This standard specifies the safety requirements for people and property related to the design, manufacture, installation and operation of refrigeration systems. This standard applies to various refrigeration systems in which the refrigerant evaporates and condenses in a closed refrigeration circuit. Refrigeration circuits include heat pumps and absorption systems, but not for systems where water or air is used as the refrigerant. For the special safety standards for refrigeration systems that can be regarded as the same type, the requirements in this standard can be changed to meet special requirements under the condition that the same safety level can be achieved. Under the condition of not lowering the safety requirements, some provisions of other special safety standards for refrigeration systems of the same type can replace this standard. This standard applies to new refrigeration systems, improvements to existing systems, modified systems, and old systems that change places of use. Changes are only permitted if they are guaranteed to have an equivalent safety effect. This standard also applies to systems changing refrigerants.
