Scope: This part specifies the minimum requirements for performance, design, testing, manufacturing and quality assurance of iodine adsorbers (Type III) (hereinafter referred to as adsorbers) in nuclear safety-related air or gas treatment systems. This section applies to adsorbers in safety-related air or gas purification systems at nuclear facilities. Adsorbers not related to nuclear safety may refer to the implementation. This section does not apply to power plant condenser exhaust systems, inert gas retention systems, normal cooling and heating ventilation systems.
