Scope

This section specifies the minimum requirements for the performance, design, acceptance testing and quality assurance of adsorption media used in air and gas purification systems at nuclear facilities. This section applies to unused adsorption media installed in nuclear safety-related air purification systems. This section does not apply to activated carbon in respirators, personnel respirators, inert gas retention systems, or radioactive waste treatment systems.
