Scope

This standard specifies the classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation and storage of marine disc separators. This standard applies to the design, manufacture and acceptance of separators for removing moisture and mechanical impurities from mineral oil on board ships. The design, manufacture and acceptance of separators used to remove water and mechanical impurities from mineral oil on land can also refer to this standard.
