This standard specifies the ultrasonic testing methods and defect grade assessment of stainless steel forgings for centrifuges and separators (hereinafter referred to as forgings). This standard is applicable to the ultrasonic testing of rotating drums and annular, cylindrical and shaft-shaped austenitic stainless steel and duplex stainless steel forgings using the pulse reflection ultrasonic testing method. Titanium alloy forgings may be implemented with reference to this standard.
