- This standard specifies the classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation and storage of marine disc separators (hereinafter referred to as "separators"). This standard applies to the design, manufacture and acceptance of separators for removing moisture and mechanical impurities from mineral oil (fuel oil and lubricating oil). This standard also applies to separators used on land to remove water and mechanical impurities from mineral oils.
