- Scope
- This part of GB/T 8287 applies to indoor and outdoor pillar porcelain or glass insulators and their components for electrical installations or equipment with AC nominal voltage higher than 1000V and frequency not exceeding 100Hz. Post insulators for DC systems can be implemented with reference to this part. This section does not apply to composite insulators or post insulators of indoor organic materials. The purpose of this standard is to: — define the terms used; — specify the electrical and mechanical characteristics of post insulators; — specify the verification conditions for characteristic values; — specify test methods; — specify acceptance criteria. The characteristic values of post insulators are specified in GB/T 8287.2-2008. This section does not contain selection requirements for post insulators under special operating conditions.
