Scope
This part of GB/T 9978 specifies the test methods to be followed when judging the fire resistance of beams. Usually beams are exposed to fire on the bottom and sides. When the beam is exposed to fire on four sides or less than three sides, the fire conditions should be changed as necessary. As a part of the floor structure, the beam should be tested together with the floor structure according to the corresponding provisions of GB/T 9978.5, and its integrity and/or thermal insulation should be evaluated. When the structure of untested building components meets the requirements of the scope of direct application given in this part, the fire resistance performance results of the components that have been subjected to fire resistance tests according to the provisions of this part can be applied to similar untested building components. See Appendix A for general guidance on test methods in this part.
