Scope

This standard specifies the classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation and storage of marine medium and low pressure piston air compressors (hereinafter referred to as "air compressors"). This standard is applicable to the design, production, test and acceptance of marine medium and low pressure piston air compressors driven by motors with rated discharge pressures of 3.0MPa, 1.0MPa and 0.7MPa. Diesel engine-driven marine air compressors and other marine air compressors with a rated exhaust pressure not greater than 4.0MPa can also be implemented by reference.
