- This part of GB/T 19889 specifies two sets of methods for measuring the airborne sound insulation of the entire exterior wall of a building and its components (integral strength measurement method and component measurement method), of which the component measurement method is used to determine the external wall components, For example, the sound insulation of windows. The most accurate component measurement method is the method using the loudspeaker as the sound source; other, less accurate component measurement methods are the method using the traffic noise on the site as the sound source method. Whole-wall measurements, on the other hand, are all about determining the difference in sound pressure levels outdoors and indoors under existing traffic conditions. The most accurate whole-wall measurements use actual traffic noise as the sound source. In addition, loudspeakers can also be used as artificial sources.
