Scope: This part of GB/T12668 specifies the general approach to energy efficiency standards for all extended products that apply the Extended Product Act (EPA). The commissioning of the drive equipment of the motor system (called extended product) allows the system energy efficiency of the entire application to be calculated from the relative losses of the connected motor system (e.g. the electrical drive system). System energy efficiency is calculated based on specific models of speed/load curves, duty cycle, and corresponding relative losses at the torque-speed operating point. This section specifies the loss calculation method for extended products and their components. This section applies to motor systems controlled by motor starters or converters [Electrical Drive Systems (PDS)]. This section does not explicitly set out requirements for environmental impact statements.
