This document specifies the evaluation method for the energy-saving effect of idle start-stop systems for passenger cars. This document applies to M1 category vehicles with an idle start-stop system and a maximum design total mass not exceeding 3500kg. This document applies to vehicles that can burn gasoline or diesel, and does not apply to externally rechargeable hybrid electric vehicles.
