Scope

This document specifies the general safety requirements for earth-moving machinery defined in ISO 6165, which are shared by two or more families of earth-moving machinery. Also applies to machine attachments and work equipment primarily designed for use in excavating, loading, transporting, drilling, spreading, compacting or trenching soil, rock and other materials. This document stipulates all major hazards, hazardous states and hazardous events related to earth-moving machinery when it is used under the manufacturer's designated use and foreseeable misuse conditions (see Appendix A); and specifies the use, operation and maintenance. Technical measures to eliminate or reduce the risks caused by major hazards, hazardous states or hazardous events. This document remains associated with other parts of GB/T 25684, and other parts of GB/T 25684 give specific regulations for specific machine families. These specific requirements take precedence over the machine requirements of this document. For multi-function machines, all parts of GB/T 25684 covering the functions and applications of such machines apply. Example: For small loaders with trenching functions, the relevant requirements of GB/T 25684.1, GB/T 25684.3 and GB/T 25684.10 apply. ISO17757 covers specific requirements related to automatic machines. This document does not apply to machines manufactured before the implementation of this document.
