Scope

This document specifies the safety requirements for mechanical excavators, and specifies all major hazards, hazardous states and hazardous events related to earthmoving machinery when the earthmoving machinery is used for the purpose specified by the manufacturer or under reasonably foreseeable misuse conditions (see GB/T25684.1 —Appendix A of 2021); and specifies the technical measures to eliminate or reduce the risks caused by major hazards, hazardous states or hazardous events during use, operation and maintenance. This document is used in combination with GB/T 25684.1 (specifying the general safety requirements for two or more families of earth-moving machinery). The specific requirements of this document take precedence over the general requirements of GB/T 25684.1. This document also applies to this type of machinery if it is intended to be used in conjunction with other working devices or attachments such as drilling rigs, piling and pile-extracting equipment and mobile equipment (such as rails, walking legs, pontoons and ships) or fixed chassis. Excavators, chassis and superstructure, this document does not specify the specific hazards associated with the above additional equipment or attachments. This document applies to mechanical excavators defined in ISO6165. This document does not apply to machines manufactured before the implementation of this document.
