- This section specifies the relevant terms and definitions for the dispersion of pigments and extenders in plastics, as well as dispersion test methods and dispersibility evaluation methods commonly used in plastic processing. Various operating methods specified in this standard may be used for comparisons between similar pigments (e.g. test samples and agreed reference pigments). If the selected test procedure and plastic material are suitable, the test results can indicate the relative dispersion of the pigment under the conditions of use.
