Scope: This section specifies methods for evaluating the dispersion of colorants in thermoplastic polymers. This method is applicable to colorants in all extrusion and melt spinning process polymers in the form of color concentrates. The filtration value (FPV) determined by this method is valid only when appropriate dispersion equipment, dispersion conditions and polymers are used. Different test conditions used will give different results. The preparation method of color masterbatch is not specified in this section. Therefore, the test results obtained for different colorants are comparable only when the same method is used to obtain the color masterbatch. Appendix A gives a distribution board model. Appendix B gives a model test report containing the results of cyclic tests conducted during the development of this standard.
