Scope: This section specifies the method for determining the color properties of the pigment to be tested relative to the standard pigment, and the method for determining the dispersion degree DH of the pigment by using the difference in tinting intensity produced when the coloring material is dispersed into polyethylene under various conditions. Method A is suitable for powdered organic and carbon black pigments, inorganic powdered pigments and pigment preparations in powder or flake form. Method B is suitable for granular pigments and pigment preparations as well as for inorganic pigments in any form. The pigment dispersion measured by this method is only applicable to the dispersion equipment, dispersion conditions and dispersion medium used. If the test conditions are different from those specified in this section, the results obtained (including absolute values and relative values between various pigment dispersion values) may also be different. Therefore, the DH specified in this section is only used to express the pigment dispersion value measured by the method specified in this section.
