Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the residual acetate group (or degree of alcoholysis) in polyvinyl alcohol resin by volumetric method. This standard is applicable to the determination of residual acetate groups (or degree of alcoholysis) in polyvinyl alcohol resins produced by high-alkali alcoholysis and low-alkali alcoholysis processes.
