1.1 This standard specifies the requirements for the design, manufacturing, inspection and acceptance of metal tower vessels. 1.2 The scope of application of this standard is as follows: a) The design pressure of steel tower vessels shall not be greater than 35MPa, and the design pressure of tower vessels made of other metal materials shall be in accordance with relevant standards; b) The design temperature range shall be in accordance with the allowable use temperature range of metal materials; c) Skirted self-supporting metal tower vessels with a ratio of height H to mean diameter D greater than 5. 1.3 For self-supporting metal tower vessels with skirts whose ratio of height H to average diameter D is less than or equal to 5, please refer to Appendix E for design. 1.4 This standard does not apply to the following tower vessels: a) tower vessels with pulling devices; b) rows of towers or tower groups integrated by operating platforms; c) tower vessels with jackets; d ) cast iron and non-metallic tower vessels.
