Scope
This standard specifies the design, manufacturing, inspection and acceptance requirements for copper pressure vessels. Copper atmospheric pressure vessels may also refer to this standard. 1.1 This standard applies to vessels with a design pressure not greater than 35MPa. 1.2 The applicable design temperature range of this standard is determined based on the allowable service temperature of copper and its composite steel plates. The applicable design temperature range for copper-lined containers should not only consider the allowable service temperatures of the copper lining and steel bright layer materials, but also the difference in elastic modulus and thermal expansion coefficient of the lining and shell materials. 1.3 The following types of windows do not fall within the scope of this standard: a) vessels that are directly heated; b) vessels in nuclear energy installations; c) pressure receiver chambers that are part of rotating or reciprocating mechanical equipment (such as centrifugal pump casings) , reciprocating pump cylinder, compressor cylinder, refrigerator cylinder, blower casing, centrifuge casing and drum, etc.); d) Frequently manual containers; e) Inner diameter (for circular cross-section, refers to the width and height or diagonal, such as a rectangle with a diagonal and an ellipse with a long axis) less than 150 mm; f) Containers for fatigue analysis. 1.4 For pressure components whose structural dimensions cannot be determined using this standard, the following methods are allowed to be designed, but must be evaluated and approved by the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Boiler and Pressure Vessels. a) Stress analysis including finite element; b) Difficult experimental analysis (such as experimental stress analysis, difficult hydraulic test); c) Comparative empirical design using comparable structures that have been put into use.
