Scope

This standard specifies the classification, requirements, heat treatment equipment and auxiliary materials, heat treatment processes, test methods, inspection rules, reheat treatment and safety requirements for marine diesel engine exhaust valves. This standard is applicable to the heat treatment of marine diesel engine exhaust valves made of austenitic heat-resistant steel, martensitic heat-resistant steel, and heat-resistant alloys made of integral or welded materials.
