Scope

This standard specifies the magnetic particle inspection and assessment methods for internal combustion engine intake and exhaust valves. This standard is applicable to the inspection of surface and near-surface defects of ferromagnetic material valves of reciprocating piston internal combustion engines with cylinder diameters less than or equal to 200mm.
