This part of GB/T 8190 specifies the test bench measurement and assessment method for gas and particulate emissions of reciprocating internal combustion engines under steady-state conditions, in order to determine the weighted value of each exhaust pollutant. Various combinations of engine load and RPM reflect different uses of the engine. This part applies to mobile transport and stationary reciprocating engines, but does not include vehicle engines mainly used for road travel. Under limited circumstances, the engine can be tested on the test bench according to the GB/T 8190.2 field test standard. But this can only be done by agreement between the parties involved. It should be admitted that the data obtained under these conditions may not be exactly the same as the data obtained in the previous or future tests according to this part of GB/T 8190. Therefore, it is suggested that this solution should only be selected for very limited output such as very large marine or generator set engines.
