Scope
This part introduces the basic principles and methods for the design and manufacture of mine equipment, protective systems and components, and provides general guidelines for explosion prevention and protection in the mining industry. This standard applies to Class I equipment, protective systems and components intended to be used in underground parts of mines and parts of surface installations where there is a risk of gas and/or combustible dust. This section does not apply to: medical equipment intended for use in a medical environment; equipment, protective systems and components used entirely in explosive hazardous areas caused by the presence of explosive substances or unstable chemical substances; personal protective equipment for personnel; containing requirements to control the combustion process design and manufacture of systems, unless they can be equivalent to ignition sources in potentially explosive atmospheres; mines, surface installations where gas and/or combustible dust are not necessarily present (such as coal preparation plants in coal mines, power plants, coke oven workshops, etc.) ). Explosive atmospheres may appear in these places, but they are not part of coal mines, they are covered in GB 25285.1-2010.
