Scope

This standard describes electrostatic discharge and ignition, specifies electrostatic protection measures, safety limits of electrostatic hazards, and analysis and determination of electrostatic accidents. This standard is applicable to the design and management of places with electrostatic hazards such as electrostatic ignition (explosion). For other electrostatic hazards (such as electrostatic interference, electrostatic damage to electronic components), please refer to the relevant clauses of this standard. This standard does not apply to the prevention of electrostatic hazards of explosives and electrical explosives.
