Scope
This document specifies methods of explosion prevention and protection for the mining industry by outlining the basic principles and methods for the design and manufacture of mine equipment, protective systems and components. This document applies to industrial equipment, protective systems and components intended to be used in underground parts of mines and parts of surface installations where there is a risk of gas and/or combustible dust. Note: Detailed information on specific equipment. Protective systems and components are stipulated by the corresponding professional standards. The design and implementation of explosion-proof measures requires relevant safety data of flammable substances (materials) and explosive atmospheres. This document specifies methods for identifying and assessing hazardous situations that may lead to explosions, as well as design and structural measures that are compatible with safety requirements, through the following aspects: - risk assessment; - risk reduction. Equipment. The safety of protective systems and components can be achieved by eliminating hazards and/or limiting risks, that is, in the following ways: a) appropriate design (without safety guards); b) safety guards; c) information on use; d ) any other precautionary measures. And a) (prevention) corresponding explosion-proof measures and b) (protection) corresponding explosion-proof measures are involved in Chapter 6 of this document, and c) corresponding explosion-proof measures are involved in Chapter 7 of this document. The explosion protection measures corresponding to d) are not covered in this document. They are covered in GB/T15706 (Chapter 6 in GB/T15706-2012). The preventive and protective measures specified in this document do not provide the required level of protection, unless the equipment. Protective systems and components operate within the scope of their intended use, and are installed and maintained in accordance with the corresponding operating procedures or requirements. This document applies to any equipment, protective systems and components intended to be used in explosive atmospheres. These environments may be caused by flammable substances handled, used or released by equipment. Protective systems and components, or by flammable substances around equipment, protective systems and components and/or materials of construction of equipment, protective systems and components. Since blasting can release floods in explosive atmospheres, this document also applies to blasting equipment, except explosives and detonators. This document applies to equipment, protection systems and components in all stages of use. This document does not apply to: - medical equipment specified for use in a medical environment; - equipment, protective systems and components used in explosion-hazardous areas entirely caused by the presence of explosive substances or unstable chemical substances; - personal protective equipment ; - the design and manufacture of systems that include the requirement to control the combustion process, unless they can act as ignition sources in potentially explosive atmospheres; - mines, surface installations where gas and/or combustible dust are not necessarily present (such as coal mines) Coal plant. Power plant. Coke oven workshop, etc.). Explosive atmospheres may appear in these places, but they are not part of coal mines, they are covered in GB/T 25285.1-2021. 1 GB/T25285.2-2021
