Scope
This part specifies the methods for identification and evaluation of hazardous situations that may cause explosions, as well as design and structural measures that are compatible with safety requirements, through the following aspects: Hazard identification; Hazard assessment; Elimination or minimization of hazards; usage information. This part specifies general design and manufacturing methods to help designers and manufacturers achieve explosion-proof safety when designing equipment, protective systems and components. This section applies to any equipment, protective systems and components intended for use in explosive atmospheres under atmospheric conditions. These environments may be caused by flammable substances handled, used or released by equipment, protective systems and components, or by flammable substances in the vicinity of equipment, protective systems and components and/or the materials of construction of equipment, protective systems and components. This section applies to equipment, protective systems and components in various stages of use. This part applies to Class II and Class III equipment used in other places except coal mine equipment; for the requirements for equipment used in underground areas of coal mines and equipment used in coal mine surface facilities that are dangerous due to gas and/or combustible coal dust, see GB 25285.2 . This section does not apply to: medical equipment in a medical environment; equipment, protective systems and components used in areas with a risk of explosion caused entirely by the presence of explosive substances or unstable chemical substances; by substances reacting with oxidizing agents other than atmospheric oxygen Equipment, protective systems and components in locations where explosions are produced, or where explosions are produced by other hazardous reactions or non-atmospheric conditions.
