This part of GB 19510 specifies the special requirements for ballasts for fluorescent lamps (excluding resistive ballasts) used for 50 Hz or 60 Hz AC power below 1 000 V. The matching fluorescent lamps may be with or without preheated cathodes, and may work with or without a starter. The rated power, size and characteristics of these lamps shall comply with the requirements in IEC 60081 and IEC 60901. Regulation. This section applies to complete ballasts and their components, such as: reactors, transformers and capacitors. Special requirements for thermally protected ballasts are given in Appendix B. This part refers to the ballasts used for lamps that work normally at the grid frequency, excluding AC electronic ballasts that work at high frequencies. See GB 19510.4 for the requirements of the ballasts. See GB 18489 and IEC 61049 for requirements for capacitors with a capacitance greater than 0.1 µF. See IEC 60384-14 for requirements for capacitors with a capacitance value less than or equal to 0.1 µF. Performance requirements are given in IEC 60921.
