Scope
The technical requirements of this guidance document apply to residual current protective devices (hereinafter referred to as residual current protective devices, referred to as RCDs) whose rated voltage does not exceed AC 440V and are mainly used for protection against electric shock hazards. The technical requirements of this guiding technical document are used as technical committees and relevant units when drafting product standards, and are only applicable when combined with relevant standards or quoted in relevant standards. This guiding technical document is not used as an independent standard, such as a separate certification standard. This guiding technical document is applicable to: - detection of residual current (see 3.3.2), comparing it with the reference value (see 3.3.3), and disconnecting the protected circuit when the residual current exceeds the reference value (see 3.3 .4) a single appliance; - a combination appliance, each part of which separately performs one or two of the above functions, but acts together to perform all three functions. For electrical appliances that are expected to perform only one or two of the above three functions, special technical requirements may be required. This technical guidance document applies to the conditions specified in Chapter 7. For other conditions, supplementary technical requirements may be required. According to GB/T 17045 and GB 16895.21, the residual current protective device automatically cuts off the power supply to prevent people and livestock from the harmful effects of electric shock caused by touching exposed conductive parts. According to GB 16895.4, residual current protective devices with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 300mA can also provide protection against fire hazards caused by continuous ground fault currents. According to GB 16895.21, residual current protective devices whose rated residual operating current does not exceed 30mA can also provide additional protection in the event of failure of basic protective measures or negligence by users of electrical installations or equipment. For residual current protective devices capable of performing additional functions, this guiding technical document is applicable together with relevant standards that include additional functions, for example: when a residual current protective device is combined with a circuit breaker, it shall comply with the corresponding circuit breaker standards. Supplementary or specific technical requirements may be required for the following situations, for example: - residual current protective devices used by non-professionals; - sockets, plugs, adapters and connectors combined with residual current protective devices. This guiding technical document stipulates: - Terms and definitions used by residual current protective devices (Chapter 3); - Classification of residual current protective devices (Chapter 4); - Characteristics of residual current protective devices (Chapter 5 ); ——optimized value of operation value and influence value (5.4); ——marking and information of residual current protective device (Chapter 6); ——standard working conditions for use and installation (Chapter 7); ——structure and operational requirements (Chapter 8); - a list of minimum test requirements (Chapter 9).
