- Scope
- This standard specifies the general requirements for residual current operated protectors (leakage protectors). Including: characteristics, normal working conditions, structural and performance requirements, verification of characteristics and performance, and marking requirements. This standard applies to residual current operated protectors with AC rated voltage up to 380v and rated current up to 200A (hereinafter referred to as residual current protectors). The main function of the residual current protector specified in this standard is to provide indirect contact protection against fatal electric shocks. A residual current protector with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 0.03A can also be used as a supplementary protection for direct contact when other protective measures fail, but it cannot be used as the only direct contact protection.
