This part is the practice specification for the inspection of radial comprehensive deviation, radial runout, tooth thickness and backlash of involute cylindrical gears, that is, the measurement involving double-face contact. This part provides the analysis of gear inspection methods and measurement results, and supplements GB/T 10095.2. Most of the terms used have been defined in GB/T 10095.2. Appendix A provides methods for selecting tooth thickness tolerances and minimum backlash for gear meshes, including suggested values for minimum backlash.
