Scope: This standard specifies the classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of marine high-pressure piston air compressors (hereinafter referred to as "air compressors"). This standard applies to product design, production, test and acceptance of marine high-pressure piston air compressors driven by electric motors or diesel engines with a rated discharge pressure ranging from 15MPa to 40MPa.
